Elfrida Andree (1841-1929) was the first Swedish woman to earn a degree as an organist, despite women not being allowed in that profession. Trained under Niels Gade, she left a rich compositional legacy in almost every classical genre. Her Two Romances of 1858 for violin (or viola) and piano are wistful and lyrical miniatures befitting the Romantic styles of the day, ideal for recitals. Includes parts for violin, viola, and piano.
