Czardas for violin and piano by Vittorio Monti

Edited by Richard Czerwonky. Published by Carl Fischer

Italian composer Vittorio Monti (1868-1922) studied in Naples, but made his career in Paris, where he wrote much in the way of music for the stage. He also made significant contributions to the mandolin repertory and performance. He is most known today, however, for his rhapsodic concert work ''Czardas'' (1904) for violin and piano, based on the Hungarian dance of the same name. It has become a recital standard for experienced players and students alike, known for its deep expressive qualities. Intermediate-Advanced, Grade 4.
