String Quartet No. 2 in G minor (parts and score) by Frank Bridge
Published by Masters Music
Frank Bridge (1879-1941) was a notable English composer and violist. His early works from the Edwardian period are lyrical and melodic, with touches of impressionism. After the First World War, his language became more modernist and complex. He was also a notable teacher, whose most famous student was Benjamin Britten.
Bridge was a well-documented pacifist and aspects of this quality crept into his works composed during the First World War, including his String Quartet No. 2 in G minor, a pastoral, lightly impressionist work with dissonant and dark undertones. Includes score and parts. Advanced level, Grade 5.
