The son of a Chinese violin maker, Feng Jiang built his first instrument as a youth in China in 1989. In the late 1990s he moved to the United States, where he is currently producing instruments of the highest quality in his studio located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

A member of Violin Society of America (VSA) and the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers (AFVBM), Jiang has won several major awards in the field of violin making including double gold medals for a violin and a silver medal for viola at the VSA competition in 2012, a gold medal for violin in VSA competition in 2004, a silver medal for violin at the same competition in 2004, and a high recommended for craftsmanship at the British Violin Making Association's international competition in London in 2004.

Musicians praise the quality of sound and playability of Feng Jiang's violins. Violinists who perform on his violins include Elmar Oliveira, Wei-Gang Li, Mark Fewer, Taras Gabora, Rodney Friend, Amadéus Leopold (Hahn-Bin), and Ning Feng, just to name a few. These players and many others have found in his instruments a versatile tool that allows them confidently express their musical ideas.
